About Us

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization but we are normal people just like you. Yup. Some of us are in school at different levels, some are married with kids and some are even retired. What unites us and makes us different is that we don’t just want to feel for those suffering from extreme poverty in the world. We want to DO something about it. We may not have much…we may not live in poverty stricken areas, or even know anyone who does…but that won’t keep us on the side lines.

Over 26,000 children will die today because of hunger and poverty, and over 1 million children die each year because they don’t have access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. We don’t feel good about that…more importantly, we are DOING something about it.

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that knows it’s not just about donating…it’s about offering sustainable solutions to extreme poverty and everything that comes with it.

We know that each individual is capable of contributing to change. We know that a little can do a lot. We know the power of collective purpose and we know that with your ACTIVE interest, we stand a chance of eliminating extreme poverty.

Our Principles, Philosophy, Mission and Vision:

Core Principles:

  • The poorest of the poor and vulnerable groups in ruralcommunities of the third world(especially women and children) willbe the focus of our activities
  • Special areas of interest are poverty reduction, enhancing child survival by reducing infant mortality, and removing constraints to better productivity and wellbeing
  • Participation of/partnership with local institutions (Non-Governmental Organizations, religious organizations, and other development organizations) in all aspects of intervention.

Every intervention is designed to achieve SUSTAINABILITY through:

  • Treating local community people, their resources, capabilities and institutions as social capital instead of mere targets.
  • Wherever possible and to whateverextent possible use local materials and expertise to implement interventions.
  • Building the capacity of the local community to identify their own problems, and design/implement solutions.
  • Designing strategies that will build community ownership of the project and consequently the commitment
    to continue managing it,
  • Creating a partnership with local people and institutions to ensure they share both the responsibilities
    and benefits of the intervention.
  • Empowering community institutions through capacity building and training in Organization Management, Financial Management and Project Cycle Management. This will be achieved through direct sharing of project responsibilities.

Our Philosophy

It is not just about donating…it’s about offering sustainable solutions to extreme poverty and everything that comes with it.

Go Ahead and Think About It

Barnabian’s Cove is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that is devoted to improving the lives of the less privileged through activities aimed at poverty elimination, disease management and prevention, Women empowerment, Children empowerment, Human rights and any other activities that improve the well-being of fellow humans. cappuccino. The BARNABIAN philosophy is NOT that any of these is bad, wrong or even undeserved. The difference is that we believe that as we enjoy these privileges, we remember that they ARE privileges and
that we CANNOT afford to neglect the women and children who are dying during childbirth because the basic medical treatment we take for granted are not in place; Or the child who is orphaned because of AIDS; Or the people who are digging through piles of garbage to eat; Or those in refugee camps waiting for airplanes for a food fly-by; Or the 1 million people who die each year from malaria…a disease that can be treated in most cases with less than $10; Or the mothers who are simply too weak from hunger to breast feed their babies.

Our Mission

Barnabian’s Cove is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that is devoted to improving the lives of the less privileged through activities aimed at poverty elimination, disease management and prevention, Women empowerment, Children empowerment, Human rights and any other activities that improve the well-being of fellow humans.
